"Writing and illustrating these storybooks has brought joy to my heart, reminding me of the wonder, imagination, and warmth of childhood. I hope these tales bring a smile to your face and become part of the moments you share with your children and grandchildren."
Lucia Alberti

After retiring, Lucia has spent her time painting realistic landscapes created in  her mind. Her work has been exhibited widely in galleries on Long Island, N.Y. where she lives. The author is also fulfilling her lifelong desire to write children's storybooks with fantasy stories to spark the imagination of young readers, and to be enjoyed by the older folks who read them. Her lifetime has been spent exploring the possibilities of her imagination and bringing her visions from the drawing board into the world of reality.  It has been both a privilege and an honor for her to have had this opportunity in her life time to persue her passions. She hopes that every young person who has an appitude and passion to do something has the support and encouragement from those who love them.

computer mouse
my books

Yes, I really do use only a computer mouse to make all the illustrations for  all my storybooks.  It is not easy, but that is the style I wanted. It captures the whimsy and bold colors I wanted.  This illustration is of Mr. Rooster, complainng to Johnathan he cannot crow in morning becasue his pocket watch broke and he does not know when to crow.  Lucia

Artist's Note:

Every illustration used in this website and all the illustrations in the artist's storybooks was drawn freehand--using only a basic computer mouse. As a personal challenge, the artist chose this unconventional method over traditional tools, turning a difficult process into a celebration of patience, creativity, and whimsical expression. Nothing was generated by AI-every pixel was placed with love and intention.

MARKETING AND LEGACY

Whimsical Tales:  Holiday Collection Backstory

From the Drawing Board to the Hearts of Readers

There's a dusty old portfolio in the basement filled with smiling faces, skinny arms, and lanky legs. For over forty years, these characters have lived quietly between the pages of sketchbooks-waiting, patiently, for their time to shine.

Long before storybooks, Lucia created holiday displays for malls across the country. She would sit at her drawing board and sketch out parades of whimscial characters: Eves perched on the backs of lumbering plar bearss, Christmas trees holding hands and skipping along in a joyful procession. Those sketches became many times life sized displays that lit up shopping centerss during the holidays. Lucia caption for every project was simple and true: "From the drawing board into the world of reality."

What started as ink and imagination became magic families could walk through, touch and photograph -a wonderland of characters brought to life. Now, decades later, those same character have stepped out of the basement and into something new: the world of books. Confetti Teddy, The Forgotten Ornaments aren't "new creations" They are old friends --characters who once stood tall in bustling malls delighting children, and now come alive again in the imagination of readers. These books are not just pages and pictures. they're the continuation of a creative journey. Every illustration is hand-drawn with a simple computer mouse, every story crafted with love, and every character is ready to leap from the page into a child's heart. So here they are: a parade of whimscial friends who were never meant to be forgotten. They've left the drawing board again-not to fill a store window or a holiday display, but fill bedtime stories, Christmas mornings, and cozy reading corners. And this time, they get to live forever.
