Anne was a young woman, not far from finishing school, and like many her age, she still wasn't sure what she wanted to do with her life. She had ideas, of course - some big, some small - but none of them ever felt quite right. So whenever her thoughts became too tangled, she came to the park with her little dog, Fiddles, to clear her mind.
On this day, as Anne paused along the stone path, Fiddles suddenly stopped and stared at something near the ground. Anne looked down...and gasped.
Standing between the stones was a tiny man - no taller than ten inches - dressed neatly, as if he'd be expecting company.
He blinked up at here in surprise. "Oh my," he whispered to himself. "She can see me.."
Then, with a spark in his eyes, he added softly, "Could she be the one we've been waiting for all these years"
